~*~ Mary Jane Tryner ~*~
B. March 23, 1933 D. Jan. 31, 2017
Mary Jane Tryner (Nana), 83 was born to Alvin Francis Kennerley and Lillian Lottie Caperton on March 23, 1933 in Concord, Calif. and was called to heaven peacefully on Jan. 31, 2017.
Mary was a longtime resident of Burson, Calif. for more than 40 years and enjoyed volunteering and socializing with friends and family. She was active with the Burson Volunteer Fire Department and helped raise money to fund the original Burson Fire House many years ago. Mary was a former member of the Tri-Dams Lions Club and was a dedicated volunteer at the Lions Club Deaf Camp in Arnold for more than a decade. She was also a former member of the Women of the Moose as well as the local Senior Meals Program.
Mary often spent her afternoons at the local Campbell's Country Kitchen diner where she enjoyed discussing current events over coffee with some of her closest friends. She was an avid reader of romance novels and loved playing handheld games. Modern technology was no match for Mary as once she caught on to using her new iPad, the sound of her finger nails tapping away at the screen filled a quiet room as she played her favorite apps and online games. She had even taught herself to FaceTime with her granddaughter, Sarah Jane in Pennsylvania, which she did on a regular basis.
Family was more important than anything to Nana, and enjoyed spending quiet time in her favorite recliner with one of her great grandsons watching TV. She was very proud of her great grandchildren and spoke of them often to friends over the phone. She was proud of Sierra Stackpole for earning high honors in high school and for being accepted to Sonoma State College to study nursing. She was also very proud of Johnny W. Hoskins for his brave decision to join the U.S. Army and become a Military Police Officer and his desire to become a future Law Enforcement Officer. She was also very proud of her younger great-grandchildren, Jacob Hoskins and Garrett Hoskins, for their love of soccer and looked forward to hearing success stories from the field. She cared deeply for all of her great-grandchildren and loved sharing their many accomplishments with her friends.
Mary could debate like no other and was often heard engaged in playful arguments with her grandson's father-in-law, Albert Pena and had a good laugh about it later with his wife, Irma Pena. They enjoyed conversations about the new era and how they were sure technology had ruined the kids of today.
Mary was preceded in death by husband Arnold Tryner, son Danny Hoskins Sr. and daughter-in-law Brenda Hoskins. She is survived by siblings Alvin "Bud" Kennerley, Darlene Tennel and Tim Kennerley. Children Sandy Porath, Arnold Tryner Jr., Kevin Tryner, Vince Tryner and Jim Tryner. Grandchildren Danny Hoskins Jr., Johnny Hoskins, Ronny Hoskins, Sarah Jane Tryner and Victoria Flores. Great-grandchildren Zachary Malinowski, Austin Marchese, Johnny W. Hoskins, Sierra Stackpole, Jacob Hoskins, Garrett Hoskins, Andrew Flores and Isabella Flores.
Mary Jane Tryner was a fun-loving, family-oriented, dedicated woman who truly cared about people and their well-being. She was loved by many and made an impression on anyone who was blessed with the opportunity to know her. She will be forever missed and in our hearts for all of time.
